Extreme Makeover – VERMONT DISC GOLF STYLE!
March 15th, 2008 So 2008 may be the year of the Rat in China, but in Vermont its the year of the Disc. Over the past winter disc golf afficianados from across the state have been scheming and planning. There are many details to cover and those are located on a variety of new and updated web pages on this site, but below is a summary of the highlights and changes:
– The brand new Green Mountain Points Series – see the left sidebar for links to the details. This state-wide point series open to all GMDGC members will involve 7 tournaments all across the state of Vermont.
– VT Rep to the USDGC – This year we are greatly expanding the process used to select the VT rep to the USDGC. The selection will be based on a series of events (same events as the GMPS) and we hope this format encourages more participants and more competition in the selection process. Details are on the GMPS page.
– 2008 Membership Info – Updated membership info is posted on the About GMDGC page.
– The new GMDGC Wiki – This website can be viewed by all, but can be edited by GMDGC members. Add your own pictures, info about disc golf events, postings about lost and found discs – whatever you want.
– 2008 Schedule – This includes the GMPS events, other Vermont events and the North Calais Monthly tournaments. Details on the events page.
– More VT Course info – Black Falls disc golf course in Montgomery and South Branch disc golf course in Readsboro have been added to the courses page. Be in touch if you want your course info posted.
– Sap Bucket Open VI – The traditional start of the disc golf season in VT is scheduled for May 10, 2008. This year it is the innaugural GMPS event, a NEFA event, a PDGA C-Tier event and a Vibram Open at Maple Hill qualifier with 2 spots.
– Bag Tag 2008 – Updated schedule and details about the 2008 Bag Tag are on the Bag Tag page.
