CASH DONATIONS: This is the main focus of the Ice Bucket,as all the money we raise for the event goes directly to Vermont Food Shelves to help them get food to the folks who need it. For those of you who may not know about "Ice Bowls", they are a collection of disc golf events that are held each year in January and February with an overall mission of raising funds to fight hunger. Related goals include having fun and connecting the disc golf community in a positive way to the community at large. In 2013, 13,367 disc golfers participated in 241 Ice Bowls in the U.S,Canada,Finland and Norway. Together we raised $311,862 for charity. The GMDGC Ice Bowl raised $8,415 that year. Each year we up our goal $1,000 and so our 2014 goal was $9,000 which we met and surpassed raising, $9,504. We were the #3 Ice Bowl in the world for Money Raised! This means our goal for 2015 will be $10,000! You will find a donation link on the GMDGC homepage where you can direct friends, family and co-workers to donate(make sure they write in your name as the sponsored player, last year the Top Fundraiser got a brand new Burton Snowboard  ). Things are going to start cranking for the Ice Bucket.....

#1.... For being a top 3 fundraiser in 2014 we are getting 50 Discraft SuperColor discs. Matt Marro is currently designing the stamp and the first 50 players to pre-reg for the Generous Golfer package ( or higher) will get one  Registration should be up and running in the next week or two, stay tuned!

#2.... Donation link is up on our homepage  Big thanks to Brendan Bush who always helps us with this. Please, please, please spread the link far and wide and help us feed those who need food on the table during this holiday season.

#3.... I am going to start to get in touch with folks in regards to prize donations. If you know a business or a person OR if you have something to donate as a prize, please post here and I will add it to our list.

#4.... I will be holding a raffle for a Kelly Clark snowboard! I went to high school with Kelly and got in touch with her in regards to a prize. She sent us a board that she rode and it is just about brand new. Look for info on this in the next week or two and have a chance to win a snowboard that a Vermont Olympian rode and signed. This is a special prize, so stay tuned for the raffle details

Just a quick reminder that donations and registration are separate. If someone donates in your name those funds DO NOT go towards your entry fee. Once registration is live online players can register for the event that way. Thanks!
